Johnnie Herman Carter

Services for Johnnie Herman Carter, 79, of Longview will be 2 p.m. Thrusday 
at Welch Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Carter died Tuesday morning in a Tyler hospital.

Mr. Carter was born in Groman and had lived in Longview since 1931, coming 
from Albany. He was a retired owner of Carter Well Service, which he had 
sold in 1971. He formerly worked for Humble Petroleum and Cooper Well service 
in Kilgore. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was active in 
the Businessmen's Bible Class. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II 
and a member of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife, Addie; brothers, Truman W. Carter of Round Rock 
and B. A. Fost of Oklahoma City, Okla.; niece, Glenda Watson; and several 
nephews.
