Robert S. Christie

Services for Robert S. Christie, 84, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the 
Welch Funeral Chapel with the Rev. William A. Rawlins officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Christie died Wednesday morning in a local hospital.
He was a retired engineer and 1925 gradute of the University of 
Pittsburgh. He was formerly employed by the Atlantic Refining Company, 
Marland Oil Company and the Amerada Petroleum Corporation . He wrote 
several magazine and engineering trade journal articles and was an 
Army veteran of World War II. He was an emeritus member of the American 
Association of Petroleum Geologists. He was a member of the Spring Hill 
Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the AARP, Pioneer Club and Coffee Club.
Survivors include his brothers, John Kenneth Christie of Parksburg, 
Penn., and Raymond K. Christie of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Hanna M. 
Christie of Prospect Park, Penn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Welch Funeral Home from 6:30 
until 9 p.m. today.
