Cotton, Geneva 


Services for Geneva Cotton will be noon Saturday, May 13, 2006, at Parkview Baptist 
Church, with the Rev. J.C. Watkins officiating and Dr. James A. Cotton eulogizing. 
Mrs. Cotton was born July 31, 1914, in Tatum, Texas, to Joe and Florence Beckworth 
Hutchings. She attended Smith Chapel School and graduated with honors. In 1934, she 
united in marriage to Randolph Cotton, who preceded her in death. Two sons, Jessie 
James and Randolph Jr., also preceded her in death. Mrs. Geneva Cotton departed this 
life on Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas. 
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Julius and Shirley Cotton of Longview, Texas, 
and Dr. James A. and Venoris Cotton of Longview, Texas; three daughters, Naomi and 
Robert Pleasant of Bellwood, Illinois, Angie and Thomas Bethany of Bellwood, Illinois, 
and Mary A. and Duke Green of Orange, Texas; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 
and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 7-8 
p.m. Friday evening, May 12, 2006, at Stanmore Funeral Home.
