Childers, Elsie Services for Elsie Childers, 85, of Longview, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Childers died April 5, 2007. Born January 31, 1922, in Longview, she was retired from Regan's and an active member of First Christian Church. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Cochran; and sister, Gertrude Earnhardt. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2007, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Childers passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2007. Mrs. Childers was born January 31, 1922, in Longview, to Jessie C. and Minnie Lee Kelly Pope. She was a member of First Christian Church and attended the Cornerstone Sunday School Class. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting at the ladies workshop at the church. Mrs. Childers was retired from Regan's after 22 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 1989. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Cochran of Longview; granddaughter, Angela Gunn of Longview; great-grandson, Aaron Gunn and great-granddaughter, Ally Gunn, both of Longview; sister, Gertrude Earnhardt of Longview; sisters-in-law, Mary House of Longview and Polly Morris of Weatherford; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. She was a very special and kind lady to everyone. The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m. this afternoon, April 8, 2007, at the funeral home.
