Collins, Dio Rene Services for Dio Rene Collins, 78, of Longview, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel of Longview. Interment will be in Chalk Hill Cemetery. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 8/7/2007. ------------------ Collins, Rene Funeral services for Rene Collins, 78, of Longview, will be at 10 a.m. today, August 8, 2007, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home, with the Reverend Mark Horner officiating. Interment will follow in Chalk Hill Cemetery, FM 1716 in Rusk County. Mr. Collins was born August 11, 1928, in Kaufman, to James and Pearl Collins. Rene was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked for Western Auto in Longview and Kaufman. He was best remembered as working for the Borden Milk Co. from 1964-1981, operating a retail milk route and then bought the milk route and operated it independently for 16 years. Later, he managed the Fuel Center on Lake Cherokee. Mr. Collins is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Kathleen Collins of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law, Sally Kennedy and husband, Randy of Longview, Jimmie Zapp and husband, Joseph of Covington, and Phyllis Collins of Longview; grandchildren, Kristi Morris of Longview, Jonathan Holt and wife, Patrice of Dallas, Lance Kennedy of Dallas, Blake Kennedy of Longview, Craig and wife, Charla Vincent, serving in the U.S. Air Force, and Christopher Zapp of Mesa, Arizona; great-grandchildren, Mason and Riley Morris of Longview, and Alexa and Jacob Vincent. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2401 Alpine Rd., Longview, TX 75601.
