Combest, Wallace Wayne Wallace Wayne Combest, 66, of Longview, passed away January 4, 2007, at a Gilmer hospital. He was born December 11, 1940, in Longview, to Harvey Patrick and Euphria Tipps Combest. He retired from Continental Can after working for them for 28 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife; Geraldine O'Connor Combest of Longview; two sons, Dennis Wayne Combest and his wife, Kim of Laneville, and Daniel Myron Combest of West Monroe, Louisiana; two daughters, Theresa Marie Hughes and her husband, Mike of Longview, and Debra Kay Whitehead and her husband, Larry of LaPorte, Texas; three brothers, Horace Combest of Pittsburg, David Combest of Longview, and Preston Combest of Pittsburg; two sisters, Evelyn Miller of Longview, and Mildred Case of Lufkin; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 6, 2007, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bruce Lincon and the Rev. Mark Dunne officiating. Entombment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to extend a very special "Thank You" to the nurses and staff of East Texas Medical Center in Gilmer. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Alliance of North East Texas, 3613 S. Broadway, Tyler, TX 75701. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday evening, January 5, 2007, at the funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. at the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home.
