Crisp, William Eugene KILGORE - Graveside services for William Eugene Crisp, 83, of Longview, Texas, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon, June 23, 2007 at the Mount Zion Cemetery in Panola County, Texas, with the Reverend Scott Schulik officiating. Mr. Crisp passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Crisp was born June 3, 1924, in Marshall, Texas. He was one of three children born to William and Gladys Crisp, who preceded him in death. Mr. Crisp was a graduate of Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Louisiana. In 1944, he married Blanche Alvin Gross. They were blessed with two daughters and two sons. Mr. Crisp retired from the United States Navy on July 15, 1967, having served in the Pacific and Atlantic Theaters during World War II and the Korean War and the Vietnam War. His wife preceded Mr. Crisp in death. His two sons and daughters-in-law, Elmer N. Crisp and Georgia of Kingsland, Georgia, and Larry E. Crisp and Dianne of North Las Vegas, Nevada; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Charlene Hayes and Larry of Longview, Texas, and Gwendolyn Gunter and Clay of Tenaha, Texas; one brother, Robert V. Crisp of Louisiana; two sisters, Addie Sue Thiele of Mexia, Texas, and Mary Lou Dunkin of Pleaston, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive him.
