Caldwell, Theodore L. "Lem" Theodore L. "Lem" Caldwell, 87, most recently of West Palm Beach, Fla., passed away on August 13, 2007. Lem had been a resident of West Palm Beach, Fla., for about four years when he moved to Florida from Longview to be closer to his daughter. Lem had been a resident of Longview from 1985-2003. Lem had been a member of the Greggton Church of Christ and had also been an elder there before moving to Florida. Theodore L Caldwell retired after 30 years with the U.S.A.F. as a command sergeant and saw service during World War II, Korean War, Occupation of Japan and the Cold War. When he retired, he was living in Rantoul, Ill. and became a preacher for the Church of Christ in Rantoul Ill., Mattoon, Ill., and Champaign, Ill., before moving to Texas. Lem is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris Martin; his daughter, Evelyn Rollins; his son-in-law, John Rollins; his brothers, Hurley Buford and Jesse "Buddy" Buford; and his sister, Aline Fields, all from Texas. There are also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007, at the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be conducted by the honor guard from Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, La.
