Crocker, Anna Lou Hightower KILGORE - A celebration of a long and joyful life for Anna Lou Hightower Crocker, 88, of Kilgore, Texas, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, Texas, with the Reverend Ralph Rudy and the Reverend Dudley Plaisance officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery. Mrs. Crocker died Sunday, November 4, 2007, in Kilgore, Texas. Mrs. Crocker, the widow of the late Luther Crocker, was one of six children born to John Leroy Hightower and Canzater Faucett. She married Luther Crocker, from Haynesville, La., on May 23, 1942, in Olympia, Wash., while he was in training in the United States Army. They had been married 59 years when he passed away in 2001. Survivors include her children, Judy and Sam Litzenberg of Longview, Jane and Dan Brinkman of Austin, and Randy and Alice Crocker of Kilgore. Her grandchildren include Tracee Jones and her husband, Richard of Marshall, Tom Patterson and wife, Stefanie of Hallsville, Jeff Brinkman and Stacey Goldstein of Austin, Jennifer and Stephen Young and Kellye and Joel Martinez of Dallas, also Renee Pickett of Kilgore, and Andy, Brazie and Drew Adamez of Austin. Her great-grandchildren include Brittany, Hunter, and Spencer Patterson of Hallsville, and Corey Verner of Bonham, Texas. She fought a valiant fight against the cancers that ravaged her frail body and, while appearing to be very delicate and fragile, she was, in reality very tough and put up a gallant struggle before the disease took its final toll. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Asbury House in Longview or to Hospice of East Texas. The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for the love and support to all of the staff and residents of Country Place Village where she lived for the past six years and to the Hospice of East Texas nurses for their tender care.
