Services for James Samuel Davis, 87, of Longview, will be 1 p.m. 
Monday, November 27, 2006, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel at 4619 
Judson Road, with Dr. W.A. Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow 
in Danville Cemetery. Mr. Davis died November 24, 2006. Born April 
23, 1919, in Longview, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served 
during World War II, and member of Longview Bowling Association and

Services for James Samuel Davis, 87, of Longview, will be 
1 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2006, at Welch Funeral Home

Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery. Mr. Davis passed 
away on Friday, November 24, 2006. Mr. Davis was born April 
23, 1919, in Longview, to James Dewitt and Ethel Irene Rodden 
Davis. He was a World War II veteran serving in the United 
States Army. He was a member of Diana Methodist Church and 
the Longview Bowling Association. He enjoyed bowling, fishing 
and golfing. Preceding Mr. Davis in death were his wife, Edna 
Meadows Davis; his parents; and his sister, Lorene Small. 
Survivors include his nieces, Rachel Small and Sandy Small of 
Longview, and Myrna Bradley and spouse, John, of Avinger; 
great-niece, Dawn Olivas and spouse, Michael, of Longview; 
great-nephew, Adam Bradley and spouse, Michelle, of Avinger; 
sisters-in-law, Erma Meadows of Kilgore, and Marjorie Meadows 
of Lake O' The Pines; and great-great-nephews, Aaron and Chris 
Olivas of Longview. Memorial contributions may be made to 
Heart'sWay Hospice of North East Texas, 1306 Pine Tree Rd.,
