Services for Walter Harlan Echols, 76, of Houston were scheduled for 3:30 p.m. 
today at Ascension Episcopal Church in Houston with the Rev. Albert Lawrence 
officiating. 

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in grace Hill Cemetery in Longview 
under the direction of Welch Funeral Home.

He died Sunday in Seabrook. 

Mr. Echols was a former resident of Longview and was a retired petroleum engineer 
with Mitchell Energy and Development Corp. of Houston. He attended Georgia Tech 
and received two engineering degrees from Texas A & M University. He was an 
honorary member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.

Survivors include his wife, Anne Brown; son, W. H II "Mike" of Oak Creek Col.; 
daughter, Charlotte Anne Edwards of Seabrook; and grandchildren, Kim. Chris and 
Mary Cooper, all of Seabrook.

The family wil receive friends at parrish Hall at Trinity Episcopal Church Day 
School, 2525 Seagler, Houston 77042.
