Faggans, Helena ARLINGTON - Helena Faggans, 85, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007, in Arlington. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, July 7, 2007, at Cornerstone Baptist Church at 5415 Matlock Road in Arlington, with the Rev. Cecil Cornelius officiating. Burial will be in Memory Park Cemetery of Longview. Helena was born June 19, 1922, in Beaumont, to Elester Mitchell and Johnnie Virginia Campbell. She was a longtime resident of Richmond, Calif., prior to residing in Arlington for the past nine years. Helena served in food service for the Richmond Unified School District for more than 30 years. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Golden Girls Social Group. Helena loved to cook and was known for her homemade rolls, chocolate cake and peach cobbler. The most important thing in her life was her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nedem Faggans, in 2000. Survivors include her sons, Baron Campbell of Dallas, Thomas Daniels Sr. of Oakland, Calif. and Paul Daniels, a nephew who she raised as her son, of Compton, Calif.; daughters, Arlene Williams of Manteca, Calif., Dorothy Daniels of Sacramento, Calif., Patricia Granado of Arlington and Venita Cole of Lakeland, Fla.; sister, Helen Bush of Longview; 11 grandchildren, Nikki, Stephanie, Antoinette, Adrienne, Yolanda, Marcus, Thomas Jr., Recca, Teri, Vandre and Vendrea; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
