Faust, John Fletcher SWEETWATER - John Fletcher Faust passed away on December 20, 2007, at his home in Longview. Mr. Faust was born November 22, 1908, in Rosa, Alabama. At the age of 10, he moved with his family to Roscoe. John proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre, and upon returning home, he was married to his wife, Mildred Norton Faust, on January 19, 1946, in Abilene. In Roscoe, John farmed and worked as a mechanic with his brother, Jessie Faust for 40 years. John loved life, and his favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. In 1995, John and his wife, Mildred relocated to Longview to be closer to their daughter and grandsons. John was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Roscoe. John was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred G. and Cora Bynum Faust; his sister, Essie Blankenship and her husband, William; his brother, Jessie Faust and wife, Vicie; his brother, Pete Faust and wife, Fannie; his sister, Lizzie Helm and husband, Herman; his brother, A.B. "Jabbo" Faust and wife, Josie; his brother, Charles "Charlie" Faust; his brother, Bill Faust; and his sister, Addie Rea Faust. Mr. Faust is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred Norton Faust of Longview, formerly of Roscoe; one daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Wayne McFaul of Gilmer; two grandsons, Justin McFaul and his wife, Lindsey, and Jonathan McFaul, all of Longview; and one great-grandson, Kaden Pennick of Longview. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2007, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday evening, December 22, 2007, at McCoy Funeral Home in Roscoe. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, December 21, 2007.
