CREMATION?? NO CEMETERY MENTIONED - GREGG COUNTY Eleaner McKellar Foster was born on March 6, 1929 in Jennings, Louisiana. She moved to East Texas in 1931 and attended school at Tatum, Laird Hill, and graduated from Leverette’s Chapel. She earned an associate’s degree from Kilgore College while working at The Toggery in downtown Kilgore. She met her husband, Ed Harold Foster, while attending Leverette’s Chapel, whom she married in 1949. They made their home in several places before settling in the Greggton area of Longview, where they owned and operated Top Burger for many years. She later worked for Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home and Production Specialties. Ed and Eleaner thoroughly enjoyed their retirement years by traveling extensively throughout the United States and Canada. They spent many of their last years as Winter Texans with good friends in Pharr, Texas. They celebrated over 50 years of marriage together before his death in 2000. Eleaner died on Saturday, February 14, 2015 after a short illness. Eleaner was always smiling and quick to laugh. She enjoyed being with people, especially her loving family. Eleaner was a very special and well-loved lady whose presence will be truly missed by all that knew her. She was a member of Greggton First Baptist Church, where she participated in many activities and was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. She also enjoyed her service with the Dorcas Sunday School Class and being a member of the Pine Tree Ex Mothers Association. Eleaner is survived by her four children: Jim Foster and wife, Sue, of Longview; Bob Foster and wife, Judy, of Haughton, Louisiana; Dan Foster and wife, Becky of Longview; and Jan Foster Belcher and husband, Danny of White Oak. Eleaner is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Sonya Foster Davis and husband, Mark and daughter, Zowie and expecting Avery in May; Seth Foster and wife, Katy and daughter, Elly Kate; Symon Foster and wife, Lindsay; Megan Belcher and Madison Belcher. She is also survived by two sister-in-laws, Margie McKellar and Merl McKellar, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and two brothers. Services for Eleaner will be held at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview on Wednesday, February 18 at 10 am. There will be a visitation the night before at Rader’s between 6 and 8 pm. Greggton First Baptist Church will be accepting donations in her memory.
