Furlow, Michael Dudley Dec. 6, 1951 - Jan. 31, 2007 JEFFERSON - Michael, affectionately known to his friends as "Cajun," went to his heavenly home. Please God embrace your son and give him the peace he has not found in the last 11 years. Waiting to welcome him home are his father, Robert Dudley Furlow; his brother, Richard Wayne; and his sister, Brenda Diane. Michael joined the U.S. Army after graduation. He served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. After his discharge, he moved to Larto, La., where he married and raised a family working in the oil field and fishing Larto Lake. Following an accident in 1996 which left him with permanent brain damage, he came to Longview to be near his mother to receive the care he would need for the rest of his life. He enjoyed fishing Lake O' the Pines but never could forget the joy he had fishing Larto Lake with his special friends, Larry and Noble Wiley. Following cremation and a private memorial service, left to mourn and remember the good times are his mother, Barbara Ann Weeks Furlow Allen; his brothers, Robert Gary of Weatherford, TX, and James Steven of Granberry, TX; and his sister, Patricia "Tricia" Gail Furlow of Lake Charles, La. He is also survived by his daughters, Natasha, April and Jasmine of Larto Lake, La.; his sons, Dudley Furlow of DeRidder, La., and Bobby Furlow of Buna, TX; and 10 grandchildren. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. - Amen. Published in the Longview News-Journal from 1/4/2008 - 1/8/2008.
