Mary Elizabeth Garbs

Graveside services for Mary Elizabeth Garbs, 76, of Longview, will 
be 2 p.m. Friday at Grace Hill Cemetery with Leo Whitfield officiating. 
Welch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She died Wednesday afternoon in a local hospital. 

She was a resident of Longview since 1949, coming from Galveston. She 
was a retired nurse with Good Shepherd Medical Center and was a member 
of the Episcopal Church.

Survivors include a son, frank Garbs, jr. of Vidor; a daughter, Betty 
McCullough of Longview; two brothers Charles Wajdak, Jr of Vinton, La. 
and Harry Wajdak of Alta Loma; three sisters, Mrs. George (Frankie) 
Bishop of Beaumont, Johnnie Mae Rolin of Galveston, and Anna Oakley of 
Texas City; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
