Gibson, Lillyan KILGORE -- Services for Lillyan Gibson, 84, of Kilgore, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006, at the St. Luke's United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Gus Browning and the Reverend Ernie Turney officiating. Burial will follow in Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Gibson died Thursday, July 6, 2006, in Kilgore. She was born August 12, 1921, in Electra, where she graduated high school. Lillyan married Kenneth Gibson on April 19, 1942. They moved to Kilgore in 1950. The Gibsons joined St. Luke's United Methodist Church in 1952, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, taught fourth grade Sunday school, and later served as president of the Susanna Wesley Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Club Au Currant. She was preceded in death by her son, Rudy Johns Gibson. Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Gibson of Kilgore; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth K. and Cindy Gibson of Kilgore; daughter and son-in-law, Kalynn and Danny Harrison of Kilgore; four grandchildren, Shane Gibson of Kilgore, Leigh Collier of Austin, Dana Weathers of Longview, and Whitney Gibson of Kilgore; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 401 Main St., Kilgore, TX 75662.
