Gossett, Hazel Broadwater Memorial services for Hazel Broadwater Gossett, 75, of Kilgore, formerly of Port Arthur, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore, with Dr. Wayne Berryman officiating. Mrs. Gossett passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006, in Tyler, following a five-year battle with cancer. Mrs. Gossett was born September 16, 1931, in Kilgore, Texas, to Frank and Grace Broadwater. She attended Kilgore public schools, Kilgore College, and East Texas University at Commerce, where she earned a degree in business and education. Mrs. Gossett taught English in Little Cypress and then worked as a field accountant in construction until retirement. She was a loving, kind, and generous Christian woman. Mrs. Gossett loved all people and made sure they knew she was thinking of them, usually through greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Gossett was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Homer Jack Davis; and brother, Howard Broadwater. Mrs. Gossett's daughter, Kelly Gossett of Port Neches; son, Barry Gossett of Kilgore; stepbrother, Homer Davis of Dalhart; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving friends survive her.
