Gregory, Edith Eunice Memorial services for Edith Eunice Gregory, 81, of Longview, will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2007, at the First Christian Church, with Dr. Richard Emerson and Dr. Jim Lewis officiating, under the direction of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road. Mrs. Gregory passed away Friday, January 5, 2007, at a local hospital. Mrs. Gregory was born March 18, 1925, in Jena, Louisiana. She had been a resident of Longview since 1947. Mrs. Gregory was a member of the First Christian Church of Longview for more than 50 years, and was an active Sunday school teacher. She was a retired secretary with the Hallsville Independent School District after 23 years. Mrs. Gregory is survived by one son, Samuel Scott Gregory and wife, Susan of Hallsville; one daughter, Janet Gregory Ledet and husband, James of Lewisville, Texas; one grandson, Anthony Thomas; one granddaughter, Rebecca Gregory; one sister, Audrey Jo Speights and husband, Earl of Monroe, Louisiana; and a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Building at First Christian Church, 720 N. Sixth St., Longview, TX 75601, or a charity of choice.
