Gedeon, Louis J.

Funeral services for Louis J. Gedeon, 79, of Longview, will be 2 p.m. 
Monday, April 30, 2007, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. 
Darrell Howanitz officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial 
Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. 
Gedeon passed away Thursday morning, April 26, at a local hospital. 
There will be open visitation with no set time.

Mr. Gedeon was born August 27, 1927, in Lockwood, Ohio, to Lewis and 
Mary Milbrand Gedeon. He graduated from North Bloomfield High School 
in 1945. He attended Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, majoring in 
accounting and business.

During the summer months, Mr. Gedeon would work at various jobs before 
settling on general remodeling as a good source of income.

He met his beloved wife, Anita, at one of the many shows and soon 
realized they both enjoyed the same interest in life. They were married 
in 1964 and soon opened a showroom featuring all types of remodeling. 
Anita went to kitchen design school in Reading, Penn. Mr. Gedeon 
continued to sell and design additions in garden rooms and general 
remodeling. Mr. Gedeon won several awards in the United States for 
outstanding designs in remodeling. He belonged to several organizations 
in the remodeling and construction field.

Mr. Gedeon enjoyed flying, golfing and fishing. He was a commercial 
pilot and had his own airport in Ohio for several years before entering 
the remodeling business.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anita, who passed 
away July 28, 1987; his sister, Lillian Sulek; and three brothers, 
Clarence Gedeon, Robert Gedeon and Leonard Gedeon.

He is survived by eight nieces, Patricia Maciewski, wife of Joseph 
Maciewski of Warren, Ohio, Mary Ann Jackson, wife of James Jackson of 
North Bloomfield, Ohio, Barbara Abernathy, wife of Mike Abernathy of 
Broadrew Height, Ohio, Gloria Jean Hudak, wife of Joseph Hudak of 
Samerna, Georgia, Debra Jean Tuck, wife of Fred Tuck of Dunwitty, 
Georgia, Diane Gedeon and Karen Gedeon of Vidalina, Georgia, Rose Gedeon, 
wife of Clarence Gedeon, and Mildred Gedeon, wife of Robert Gedeon; 
three stepchildren, Martin Short of Comifor, Colorado, the Rev. Beverly 
Short of Farley, Iowa, and Nancy Armstrong of Charleston, South Carolina; 
a special friend, Augusta Brown; and a host of friends and relatives, 
including his beloved pets, Sally and Callie.

 Mr. Gedeon will be sorely missed and remembered for his generosity and 
love of people.

Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association, The Cancer 
Foundation, The Arthritis Foundation and The American Diabetes 
Association.
