Gentry, Eleanor Isabell Whitehurst Eleanor Isabell Whitehurst Gentry, of Longview, daughter of Vera Kirkland Whitehurst and William Stanley Whitehurst of Linden, went peacefully to be with the Lord on March 14, 2007, as her loving family stood by her side. Isabell was a graduate of Linden High School and retired from the AT & T Corporation in Longview, where she had lived since 1958. During the last seven years, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Henry Fogle, in Chester, Va. She was a member of the Valley View Baptist Church, while she lived in Longview. She was a devout Christian who loved traditional sacred hymns and took great joy in living her principles and loving her family. In addition, she was an avid fan of both the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. She had a special pride in being the wife of D.E. Gentry, who had served in the United States Armed Services for 23 years. Her sense of respect and duty to her country was exceeded only by the love and devotion to her family as she cheerfully and tirelessly spent her time as wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We will all miss her so very much. "A well-lived life and a well-loved and devoted Christian." Isabell was preceded in death by her sisters, Evelyn Whitehurst Spinks and Meltry Whitehurst Rainey; and broth- ers, J.W. Whitehurst and Davis "A.D." Whitehurst. She is survived by her two daughters, two sons and one brother: Doris Gentry Fogle and son-in-law, Henry C. Fogle of Chester, Va.; Stanley Turner Gentry and daughter-in-law, Patricia Gentry of Diana; Paula Gentry Butkowski and son-in-law, Charles Butkowski of Raleigh, N.C.; Ronald Lester Gentry of Longview; and brother, Roy Stanley Whitehurst and wife, Evelyn Whitehurst of Longview.
