Godfrey, Betty Brewer KILGORE - Graveside services for Betty Godfrey, 78, of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Danville Cemetery, with the Reverend Rick Webb officiating. Mrs. Godfrey died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, in Longview. Betty Ann Godfrey was born July 1, 1928, in Laredo, to Ney and Daisy Brewer. She attended SMU in Dallas. Betty married Peter Godfrey Jr. in 1947. She was active in many church organizations as well as many service clubs as she and her family lived in different areas of Texas. Betty was blessed with the most charming personality, and all who met her loved her. She was always smiling and ready to help anyone in need and brought joy to all of us. Mrs. Godfrey is survived by her husband, Peter Evart Godfrey Jr. of Longview; daughter, Barbara Godfrey of Plano, son and daughter-in-law, Pete and Shelly Godfrey of Liberty City; three granddaughters, Autria Godfrey of Charlottesville, Va., Laura Godfrey of College Station and Lindsay Godfrey of College Station; sister-in-law, Anita Ransom of Little Rock, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Harbor of Buckner Place for their loving care rendered to Mrs. Godfrey.
