Hancock, Norma J. Norma J. Hancock, 70, of Kilgore, died Thursday, March 16, 2006, in a Longview care center. She was born in Grand Prairie on March 4, 1936, to Benjamin and Bonnie Holley. Norma loved adventure and particularly enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping. She also enjoyed ceramics and needlepoint and has left some wonderful treasures that she created such as ceramic dolls and dishes. She was a strong-willed person, and this was reflected in her career as a truck driver, along with her late husband, L.B. Hancock, who preceded her in death in 2003. Together, Norma and L.B. traveled distances most people only dream of. Now they are traveling together on the highways in heaven. Norma was raised in a large family with three brothers and nine sisters. This loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother will be dearly missed by daughters, Karla Farrell and husband, Mike, Barbara Jackson and husband, Fred, Cathy Smith and husband, Wayne; sons, Bruce Hancock and wife, Donna, Choyea Hancock and Alan Shane Hancock and wife,Lauren; grandchildren, Rhiannon Farrell, Rebecca Jackson Amando, Jared Jackson, Kim Purington, Tiffany, Tamara, Scott and Tyler Hancock, Randy and Brian Smith and Alexzander Wayne Hancock; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Morgan Purington and McKenzie Hancock; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Elizabeth Hall. She will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews and special friends. The family will receive friends this afternoon from 4-6 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 20, 2006, at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
