Harris, Charles J. KILGORE -- Services for Charles J. Harris, 87, of Kilgore, will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2006, at Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore with the Revs. Ernie Turney and Ralph Rudy officiating. Burial will follow in Kilgore Memorial Gardens. Mr. Harris passed away Friday, October 13, 2006, at a Tyler hospital. He was born August 27, 1919, in Hunt County, Texas. Mr. Harris was a retiree of Gulf Oil Co. and a member of the Saint Luke's United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a decorated Purple Heart veteran of World War II. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Richard Thornhill of Longview; sister, Ruth Hise of Greenville, Texas; sister-in-law, Fairer Todd of Kilgore; grandnephew, Tom Todd; great-grandnephew, Jess Todd; special friend, Barbara Dickerson; and numerous nieces and nephews. His wife, Tomy Harris, preceded him in death. Pallbearers will be Todd Dickerson, Larry Elliott, Mack Monday, Truman Clower, Milton Bennett and Perry Ball.
