Hill, Mary Ruth Messenger Mary Ruth Messenger Hill, 90, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 8, 2006, when she died at a Longview hospital. She was born February 15, 1916, in Hillsdale, Oklahoma, to Martin Joseph and Goldie Overton Messenger. Mrs. Hill, a former resident of Wichita, Kansas, moved to Longview in February of 1998 from Aransas Pass. She was a homemaker, a member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church, and for more than 27 years, she was a school nurse for the Wichita, Kansas school district. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Kent Pershing Hill in 2001; a sister, June Atkinson in 1993; a brother-in-law, Tommy Atkinson in 1999; and a brother, Lee Messenger in 1999. She is survived by her sons, Clifford Lee Hill of Longview, Jerry Kent Hill of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jimmy Hill of Green River, Wyoming; her sisters, Elda Bell Coleman of Pakastan, and Ada Rhea Harding of Enid, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Roberson officiating. Burial will be 3 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2006, at the White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart'sWay Hospice, 1306 Pine Tree Rd., Longview, TX 75604.
