Friday January 22, 1926 H. H. Hoeft is Dead at Kildare, Texas News of Sudden Death Reached His Home Here Early Today News of the sudden death of H. H. Hoeft, 53 years old, prominent resident of Longview, last night, shortly after midnite at Kildare, Texas, reached Longview early this morning and brought great sorrow to his family and many friends here. Mr Hoeft had just gone to Kildare to relieve the railroad telegraph operator there. He has been in failing health for the past year. H.H. Hoeft is survived by his widow in Longview, and two children, Herman and Miss Pearl Hoeft. He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., where his mother, a brother and sister reside. He came to Texas nearly thirty years ago and for the most of that time had been in the employ of the Texas & Pacific railroad, serving continously as dispatcher at Mineola for seventeen years, and six years in Longview. Mr Hoeft was a faithful member of the Baptist church and was a deacon of the First Baptist church of Longview. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family home in Longview, conducted by the Rev John L. Whorton, pastor of the First Baptist church, after which Masons will take charge of the body and conduct services with the Masonic ritual at Grace Hill cemetery, in which burial will be made. Active pallbearers are: Charles Miller, H.B. Oden, J.W. Gordon, Thos D. Campbell, Jas. Young and W. J. Broadfoot.
