Humphrey, Billie Jo Glenn Funeral services for Billie Jo Glenn Humphrey will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2006, in the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. The Rev. James Craver will officiate. Mrs. Humphrey, 75, passed away on May 16, 2006, after a lengthy illness. Born May 20, 1930, in Tyler, Texas, to Thomas and Ada Bell Glenn, Billie Jo graduated from Whitehouse High School and later became a certified dental assistant. On February 7, 1948, she married Billy G. Humphrey, with whom she shared more than 58 years. Billie Jo retired from the dental and medical profession after a career of more than 30 years. She enjoyed school and sports activities with her children, served as president of the American Business Women's Association, and was a member of the Baptist church. During healthier years, she enjoyed camping, skiing, gardening, and cooking. Billie Jo was devoted to her family and enjoyed caring for her neighbors. Survivors include her husband, Bill; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and James Craver of Allen, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Jana Humphrey of Tyler, Texas, and Randy and Lisa Humphrey of Whitehouse, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Sidney and Wyleen Glenn of Azle, Texas; grandchildren, Kimberly Mays, Scott Craver, Kasi Craver, Leslie Humphrey, Dylan Humphrey, and Andon Humphrey; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Wetona Chadwick; and brother, David Glenn. If desired, memorials may be made to Longview Cancer Center, 1300 N. 4th Street, Longview, TX 75601; or to the American Diabetes Association, 1-800-342-2383, where a memorial fund has been established.
