Hasty, Clay Carter JEFFERSON -- A celebration of Clay Carter Hasty's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2006, at the Terry Camp on Carter's Lake Road, off Highway 43 in Marion County. A light lunch will follow. Clay passed away October 4, 2006, in Longview. At the time, he was living at Triple A Estates in Lakeport. He was born December 31, 1974, to Carla Hasty Blevins and William Terry Hasty. He attended First Methodist Preschool in Marshall and Jefferson schools for the rest of his education. After a near fatal bout with meningitis in 1993, Clay had a swimming accident the same year in which he suffered a spinal cord injury, which rendered him a quadriplegic. Before his tragic accident, Clay loved to duck hunt, deer hunt, ride three-wheelers, and anything that had to do with the outdoors. Clay will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He handled his disability with humor, but it was still a hard journey for him. Everyone who loved Clay knows that he is finally at peace with his life. He was preceded in death by his father, William Terry Hasty in 2000; maternal grandparents, Barbara and Richard Nagle; and paternal grandparents, Flora and Robert Earl Hasty. Clay is survived by his mother and her husband, Carla and Ric Blevins of Avinger; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Glen Feinstein of San Antonio; nephews, Ben and Ethan Feinstein of San Antonio; aunt and her husband, Julie and James Hamm of Jefferson; and uncle and his wife, Reggie and Sarah Hasty of Jefferson.
