Hines, Dorothy S.

Dorothy S. Hines was born March 14, 1913, in Gainesville, Texas, 
to Vernon and Mattie Stewart. She passed away November 26, 2006, 
in Longview, Texas. At birth, she weighed only one-and-a-half pound. 
She was very proud of the fact that she survived. Mrs. Hines was a 
bookkeeper for the Hines Oil Co. in Wichita Falls, Texas, which she 
co-owned with her husband, who preceded her in death. She had been 
a member of the First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas, since 
1935, and after moving to Hallsville in 1999, she joined the 
Hallsville First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hines was preceded 
in death by her husband, Hearne F. Hines; and brothers and sisters, 
Walter, Ora, Bertha, Jimmy, Dick, and Helen. She is survived by two 
sisters, Hazel Shaw of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Billy Baxter of 
Jacksonville, Florida; two nieces, Pamela Woodard of Ore City, Texas, 
and Patricia Elliott of El Paso, Texas; and numerous other nieces 
and nephews. At the family's request, there will be no formal 
services, but she will be interred in Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, 
Texas. Local arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral 
Home of Longview.
