Hopkins, Charles Keith Services for Charles Keith Hopkins, 59, of Longview, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Johnson officiating. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Hopkins passed away Saturday afternoon, October 21, 2006, at his home. Charles was born November 29, 1946, in Dallas, to Algie and Lou Dean Hopkins. He lived in Longview most of his life and graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1965. Mr. Hopkins proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1968. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Charles loved playing baseball and watching his grandson with all his sports. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by all his friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; and one brother, Terry Hopkins. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Betty Hopkins; daughter, Wendy Whlir of Longview; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kristi Hopkins of Longview; grandchildren, Robby Garcia and Lilly Whlir; one sister, Susan Erwin; and one brother, Doyle Shadowen.
