James Hardy Hughes

Services for James Hardy Hughes, 85, of Longview will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Welch 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Cunningham officiating.

Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hughes died Saturday at his home.

Born in Shelbyville, Mr. Hughes moved to Longview in 1903 where he was associated 
with B.W. Crain and Texaco for 53 years before retiring in 1972. He was a member 
of the First United Methodist Church and the men's Bible class, and he was a member 
of the Longview Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

Survivors include his wife, Katibel; daughter, Carolyn Polk of Huntsville, Ala.; 
four grand-children; and four great-grandchildren.
