Hall, Lillie Pearl "Cooky" Sunrise: February 1, 1942 Sunset: September 12, 2007 Services for Cooky, 65, of Longview, will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, September 14, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road, with the Reverend David E. Sanders officiating, with burial to follow in Hallsville Cemetery. Cooky lost her gallant battle with cancer on September 12, 2007, at her residence. Her father, Richie Hall; and her brother, Russell Hall, preceded her in death. Cooky was born in Longview, to Richie and Laura Alice Hall. She attended Hallsville school. She earned her LVN and an associate nursing degree from Kilgore Junior College. She graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a bachelor of science in nursing in 1983. She devoted 32 years as a nursing professional at Good Shepherd Medical Center as the pediatric and house supervisor. Cooky and her fiancé, Gary Preston, were avid travelers, motorcyclists, horse riders, trailblazers, and a repair and builder team. She was an active horsewoman, belonging to Cherno Trail & Hunt Club, East Texas Walking Horse Association, Horse Master and Dr. Kiser's Sam Rayburn trail riders. Cooky, Gary and their dog, Useless, spent many hours fishing on the houseboat. Cooky's memories will be cherished by her daughter, Laura Alice and son-in-law, David, and their children, David Michael and Angel Michelle Yochum, all of Gilmer; grandson, Dustin Lee Reeher of Longview; sons, James Clifton Ahlstrom Sr. of Longview, and grandson, James C. Ahlstrom Jr. of Texarkana; Tommy Dean Gray and daughter-in-law, Beth of Tejas Village; her mother, Laura Alice Cox of Longview; brothers, Richard Hall and significant other, Polly of New Boston, Ralph Hall and companion, Peggy Sue of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Mozelle and brother-in-law, Bruce Barton of Hallsville; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express deep appreciation for the many prayers and thoughtful gestures of relatives, friends and her colleagues. Pallbearers will be Bruce Barton Sr., Troy Harley, Chad Fenton, Daniel Southerland, Michael Yochum and Bruce Barton Jr. Memorial contributions may be made to Longview Cancer Center, 1300 N.
