Headen, Gudrun J. "Gerdie"

KILGORE - Services for Gudrun J. "Gerdie" Headen, 63, of Lancaster, formerly of Kilgore, 
will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at White Oak Community Church with the Rev. 
David Dusek officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Kilgore Monday, from 5-7 p.m.

Gerdie Headen went to be with Lord and Savior Friday, August 31, 2007, surrounded by her 
loving family.

She was born June 24, 1944, in Kirrweiler, Germany, daughter of the late George and Anna 
Wenzel. Gerdie will be remembered by all who knew her as a woman that excelled in 
everything she did. She was a real people person, never meeting a stranger. Her first 
love was her family but her second love was her work with the Kilgore Community Crisis 
Center, which she founded in 1984. Gerdie enjoyed arts and crafts.

Mrs. Headen is survived by her husband of 21 years, Carl R. "Chief" Headen of Lancaster; 
children, Joe Stephenson and wife, Laci, Bruce Stephenson and wife, Laura, Carla Headen, 
Jill Headen, Paul Headen, and Jason Headen and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Ryan 
Stephenson, Samantha Stephenson, Matt Hampton, Justin Headen, Colin Hampton, Colton 
Stephenson, Drew Hampton, Garrett Stephenson and Cayla Headen; sister and brother-in-law, 
Maria and Otto Schneider of Germany; and a host of friends.
