Harris, Rudy   	

Services for Rudy Martin Harris, 57, of Longview, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 
9, 2007, at the Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road, with Dr. Tim Watson 
officiating. Interment will be in Memory Park. Mr. Harris passed away Saturday, 
October 6, 2007, at his home after a brief illness.

Mr. Harris was born on November 26, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from 
Firestone Senior High School in Akron, Ohio, and moved to Longview in 1969 to 
attend LeTourneau University. Mr. Harris received his engineering degree in 1973, 
and immediately went to work for LeTourneau Industries and was currently vice 
president for company improvement for LeTourneau Technology Inc.

Through the years, Mr. Harris served on university boards and received numerous 
awards and recognitions for his achievements. He enjoyed boating and was a member 
of First Baptist Church Longview.

Mr. Harris loved the Lord and his family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, 
B.J. of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Michael Sisco of Kilgore, 
Stephanie Hanson of Plano, and Rayna Harris of Hallsville; stepchildren, Rhonda 
and husband, Charlie Ramsey of Hallsville and Chuck Preston of Longview; parents, 
Vernon and Glyndowyn Harris of Longview; siblings and their spouses, Ronald and 
Priscilla Harris of Fort Worth, Ramah Lee and Chester Stewart of Lancaster, 
California, Roy and Kathy Harris of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Ruth and Stephen 
Blake of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and Randal and Debbie Harris of Chicago, 
Illinois; grandchildren, Carlee Sisco, Keely Hanson, Kiki Preston, Jacob Preston, 
and Cody Wheeler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today, October 
8, 2007.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 209 E. South Street, Longview, TX 
75601; or The Longview Cancer Center, 1300 N. 4th Street, Longview, TX 75601.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Larry Frase, the staff of the 
Longview Cancer Center, and the nursing staff of the Oncology Floor of Good 
Shepherd Medical Center for their care of Rudy through his illness.
