Hawkins, Gilbert Earl

GLADEWATER - Services for Gilbert Earl Hawkins, 72, of Gladewater, will be at 2 p.m. 
Saturday, November 3, 2007, at St. James Baptist Church, with the Rev. M.L. Leftridge 
officiating. Burial will follow in Red Rock Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are by 
McCauley & Son Funeral Home. Mr. Hawkins died October 27, 2007, in Dallas.

Born June 30, 1935, he was a U.S. Army veteran, attended Missouri public schools and 
Compton College and was a member of Union Temple CME Church. Survivors include his 
wife, Ernestine Williams Hawkins; son, Garland Hawkins; and sisters, Carol Wainwright 
and Barbara Bumper. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007, at 
Union Temple CME Church.
