Ruth LaVerne Hindman

LONGVIEW — Memorial services for Ruth LaVerne Hindman, 92, of Longview, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014, at Welch Funeral Home, with nephew, Joe Sherrod officiating. Ruth passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, at a local hospital.
A longtime resident of Longview, Ruth was born March 5, 1922, in Roosevelt, Okla., the first born of Amos and Vera Thacker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Longview, Winterfield Garden Club and Oak Forest Golf Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece; sisters, Opal, Loyce and Billie; and her beloved husband of 48 years, Marvin.
Ruth is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Eddy Bush of Mount Pleasant; grandsons, Dylan and wife, Karen, and Travis and wife, Mamie; great-grandchildren, Madison, Nicole and Matt; her three nieces and two nephews; and a host of friends who will always remember her charm, beauty and grace.
