Johnson Sr., Edwin Lacy 
  	
Edwin Lacy Johnson Sr., MSGT, USAF, ret., of Longview, died Monday, 
October 2, 2006. He was born January 27, 1919, in Henderson, to 
Marion and Lena Johnson. Edwin was retired from Texas Eastman and 
was the former commander of VFW Post 4002. Edwin was also a Pithian 
member in good standing and was a mason. He traveled the world in 
the U.S. Air Force from Labrador, to North Carolina and to California. 
Edwin retired from the service and made Longview his home. He loved to 
fish and hunt and visit his old home church, Sardis Baptist in Henderson. 
His most recent membership was at Calvary Baptist in Longview. Edwin was 
preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Lena Jolley Johnson; and 
his wife of 60 years, Mary Lena Darby Johnson. Those left to cherish his 
memory are his daughter, Brenda Kay Johnson Anders and husband, Roy; son, 
Edwin Lacy Johnson Jr.; brothers, Clyde Johnson and wife, Betty of 
Duncanville, and Ray Johnson and wife, Yvonne of Longview; and 
grandchildren, Michael, Julia, and Daphne Warne Anders. Edwin will be 
missed by all, but he is rejoicing with his wife and the Lord and all of 
his friends and family members who have gone ahead of him. He is enjoying 
a huge reunion. Graveside services, with full military honors, will be 
conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
