Johnson, Eugene Truman "Pluto" Eugene Truman "Pluto" Johnson, 92, of Longview, passed away January 8, 2007, at his residence. He was born March 20, 1914, in Robert Lee, Texas, to A.H. Johnson and Lillie Brummett Johnson. Mr. Johnson retired from the T&P Railroad, which later became Union Pacific; he also was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge for more than 50 years. Mr. Johnson enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, and watching football and rodeos. He was an avid gardener with a green thumb and grew tomatoes, squash, and peppers every spring. He was well traveled, having traversed the country with his wife from coast to coast and border to border in their motor home, attending square dance festivals and sightseeing. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and four sisters. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 70 years, Bernice Cook Johnson of Longview; one son, Jerrell T. Johnson of Longview; one daughter, Jeanne Johnson Evans and son-in-law, Clayton Evans of Lake Cherokee; two grandchildren, Rebecca Morgan and David Truman Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Michael Morgan and Kylie Jeanne Morgan; one sister, Dessie Scott of San Jose, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2007, in the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
