Johnson, Jerrell Truman Jerrell Truman Johnson, 69, of Longview, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at a local hospital. He was born April 3, 1938, to Eugene Truman and Bernice Cook Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Longview High School and later served his country as a combat veteran and retired from the U.S. Army as a communications specialist. He served in Vietnam and was stationed at various locations worldwide during his 22 years of service. After his retirement, he continued working as a civilian on satellite communications for the military. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Truman Johnson, in January of 2007. He is survived by his mother, Bernice Cook Johnson of Longview; his daughters, Rebecca "Becky" Morgan of Boston, Mass. and Cheryl Hill of Longview; his son, David Truman Johnson of San Antonio; sister, Jeanne Johnson Evans of Lake Cherokee; two grandchildren, Michael Morgan and Kylie Jeanne Morgan, both of Florida; and his companion, Becky Kimmons. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at the chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 2551 Longview, TX 75607.
