Jones, Esther Patterson Services for Esther Patterson Jones, 92, of Longview, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006, at Welch Funeral Home Chapel at 4619 Judson Road. Burial will be in Waldrop Cemetery. Ms. Jones died December 2, 2006, at a local nursing facility. Born March 24, 1914, in Westminister, she worked for Western Supply Co. in Greggton for 18 years and Longview United Methodist Church, where she retired in 1978. Survivors include her daughters, Jo Ann Bailey Smith and Gaynell Bunch; son, Dennis P. Jones; and sister, Fern Hill. Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. She was born March 24, 1914, in Westminster, Texas, to Henry and Jessie LeMaster Patterson, and moved to Oklahoma at a very young age. Ms. Jones graduated from Snyder Oklahoma High School in 1932, and moved to Longview in 1942. She worked for Western Supply Co. in Greggton for 18 years and Longview United Methodist Church, where she retired in 1978. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Longview, Pioneers Classic Care, American Association of Retired Persons, Woodman of the World and The Social Order of the Beaucant. Survivors include her daughters, Jo Ann Bailey Smith and husband, Buster, of Winona, and Gaynell Bunch and husband, John, of Marshall; son, Dennis P. Jones and wife, Wilma, of Nacogdoches; nine grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Fern Hill of Headrick, Okla. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the services, at the funeral home.
