Johnson, Margaret Virginia

A service to celebrate the life of Margaret Johnson, 82, of Longview, will be 
at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Winterfield Methodist Church, with 
the Rev. Rita Sims officiating.

Arrangements for cremation are by East Texas Funeral Home of Longview.

Ms. Johnson was born October 29, 1925, in Greenville, to Joseph Henry Cowen 
and Ela Virginia Jones Cowen. She passed away on November 12, 2007, at her 
residence.

Ms. Johnson attended East Texas State University and retired from Katy ISD as 
a professional appraiser and tax assessor. She was active in the Aaron Burleson 
Chapter of the D.A.R. and the R.B. Levy Chapter of the UDC.

Survivors include her daughters, Dianne Shaw and husband, Gary, and Carolyn 
Leitner; brother, Joseph Cowen; grandsons and wives, Daniel and Jennifer Shaw, 
Andrew and Alisha Shaw; five great-grandchildren; and three nieces.
