Burial will be in Memory Park Cemetery. Ms. Knotts died June 17, 2007, in Longview. Born March 15, 1932, in Carrizo Springs, she was a member of Alpine Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Daryl Knotts; daughter, Debra Knotts; brother, John Alfred Sharp; and sisters, Myram Uppencamp, Mary Joyce Sharp, Mercedes Fisher, Shirley Wachtel and Loretta Bouldin. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery. Mrs. Knotts died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at a local care center. She was born March 15, 1932, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to John and Jemima Garner Sharp. A resident of Longview for most of her life, Mrs. Knotts was manager of a local credit union and had worked in accounts receivable at Complete Business Systems. She was an active member of the Alpine Church of Christ. On March 21, 1953, she married the love of her life, David L. Knotts, who preceded her in death in 1976. Laura was a friend to everyone and loved to help people in need. She visited and took food to the ill and homebound often when she, herself, was not well. She helped others in so many ways, and she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. In addition to her husband, David L. Knotts, Laura was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Jemima Sharp; and brothers and sisters, Ruby Berry, William Sharp, Charles Sharp, Jeanette Hanus, Vida Jo Allen and Mose Allen Sharp. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Knotts of Longview; her son, Daryl Knotts of Longview; granddaughter, Maegan Knotts of Longview; sisters, Myriam Uppencamp of Carrizo Springs, Mary Joyce Sharp of Dallas, Mercedes Fisher of Carrizo Springs, Shirley Wachtel of Baytown and Loretta Bouldin of Victoria; brother, John Alfred Sharp of San Antonio; and a number of nieces and nephews.
