Lane Sr., William Jesse William Jesse Lane Sr. passed away just before midnight on July 17, 2007. Funeral services for Jesse will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Welch Funeral Home in Longview. Jesse was born July 14, 1925, in Ardmore, Okla., to Robert Lane and Margaret Porter-Lane. He spent most of his childhood in Duncan, Okla. and Healdton, Okla. He left home at the beginning of World War II to join the U.S. Navy and also served during the Korean War. He was aboard an LST during the invasion of Normandy, and while serving in the Pacific Conflict, the Mine- Sweeper he was on was sunk by a Japanese PT boat. Having survived all of that, he returned home to attend and graduate from LeTourneau College, get married and raise a family. He worked most of his life for LeBus International as a machinist. He was a constant participant in whatever activities his children were involved. He was a coach, a Cub Scout Leader and dedicated father and husband. Jesse enjoyed fishing, hunting and hanging out with his family. His favorite activity was cooking on the grill, which he did every chance he got. His specialty was chicken. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tillie Lane; his second wife, Jean; his brothers, Robert and Arthur; and his sisters, Margaret, Janie and Ginger. He is survived by his current wife of 20 years, Pauline Reynolds; son, Bill Lane and wife, Joey; a son, Mark Lane and wife, Jane; a son, David Lane and wife, Terrie; a daughter, Margie; stepchildren, Butch Reynolds, Derry Reynolds, Ronnie Reynolds, Trudy Reynolds and Ramona Etter, and their families; grandchildren, Nicky Parker and husband, Duke, Jason Lane, Jackson Lane, Jessica and Lisa Taylor, K.C. Welty and Cody Welty; great-grandchildren, Austin Parker, Kaitlin Parker, Zack Gazella, Sahara Welty and Cody Lee Welty.
