Lassiter, William "Bill" DIANA -- Graveside services for William "Bill" Lassiter, 65, of Longview, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Tatum, with the Reverend Bobby Moore officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Diana. Bill passed away Friday, February 23, 2007, in Longview. Bill was born December 6, 1941, in Dallas, to Albin Perry and Ora Dell Lassiter. He had a B.A. in speech and a M.A. in counseling. Bill taught for 17 years in the Ouachita Parish school system, three years at Grambling State University and at BMI, Louisiana Business College and Brown Institute of Court Reporting. He also worked for 30 years in radio and T.V. in Monroe, La., Bastrop, La., Ruston, La., and Longview. Bill is survived by his wife, Susan Lassiter of Longview; son, Paul Jacks and wife, Amber of Longview; daughter, Julie Cappo and husband, Stacy, of West Monroe, La.; brother, Perry Lassiter and wife, Vivian of Ruston, La.; a grandson, Joseph Cappo of West Monroe, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. this evening, February 24, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 2/24/2007.
