Lemons, Geraldine   	

GLADEWATER - Services for Geraldine "Jewel" Lemons, 71, of Longview, will be at 11 a.m. 
Saturday, September 15, 2007, at Sabine Valley Baptist Church, with the Reverend Michael 
Darden officiating.

Mrs. Lemons went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital 
following a lengthy illness.

She was born November 15, 1935, in Longview, to Mabel Sherman and the late Willie D. 
Norman. Jewel retired from Pine Tree ISD after 24 years of service. She was well-known 
in the church community for her involvement with children's ministries and her 
affiliation with numerous church organizations. An active member of Sabine Valley 
Baptist Church, she served in various capacities, including president of Mission 
Society and treasurer.

Jewel was preceded in death by her father, Willie Norman; brother, Bobby Norman; and 
brother-in-law, Edgar George Taylor.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Mabel Moore; her devoted husband of 
52 years, W.C. Lemons; her brother, Donnie Norman and his wife, Francis; her sister, 
Shirley Taylor; her loving children, Rodney Lemons and his wife, Rona, Sharion Lemons, 
Conebra Darden and her husband, the Reverend Michael Darden, Norris Lemons and his wife, 
Mamie, Debra Hawkins and her husband, Dana, and Randolph Lemons; 16 grandchildren; 
seven great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, "Sammy".

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday evening, September 14, 2007, at 
Citizens Funeral Home, 117 S. Harrison St., Longview, TX 75601.
