CREMATION OR CEMETERY - UPSHUR COUNTY Services for Annice Darleen Lewis, 67, of Gladewater, Texas, will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Croley Funeral Home with Larry W. Osborne officiating. Annice stepped into her Savior’s arms on Friday, March 27, 2015. Annice Darleen Lewis was born to Dr. Eugene Tillman Moore and Della Darleen Sanford Moore in Carrollton, Texas, on September 18, 1947. She held a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from ETBC and taught school for over 20 years combined in both White Oak and Hawkins. She married Bud Lewis on August 23, 1969, and together they made Gladewater, Texas, their home. Her love of music and her tenacity in sharing that love with her students earned her the “Teacher of the Year” award many times. She served on the board of directors for the Association of Texas Professional Educators. Annice Lewis participated in the Gladewater Music Club, Delta Kappa Gamma and Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as an officer in each club. Her love for music and for the Lord poured into her service both at Mobberly Avenue and First Baptist Church of Gladewater where she was a longtime member. She was the children’s choir coordinator, played the hand bells, sang in the ladies ensemble, sang in the church choirs, and sang solos. Her creative force gave leadership to 3 Christmas programs where she helped in designing the sets and coordinating the productions. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband; sons, Dane Lewis of Gladewater and Tim Green of San Antonio; daughter Lora Byrd of South Lake; and seven grandchildren.
