McClung, Odis L. Odis McClung, 47, my husband, best friend and soul mate, died July 27, 2006. He lived a fulfilled life doing what he loved. He left on this earth his wife of 30 years, Jan McClung; his mother and stepfather, Rose and H.L. Luman; three children, whom he would give his life for, Shannon Reed of Hallsville, Jennifer Bray of Round Rock, and Jerrod McClung of Hallsville; two sons-in-law, whom he loved and desired success and happiness for, Allen Reed of Hallsville and Shane Bray of Round Rock; and five grandchildren, who made his heart beat, Kymber Minor (12), Kyler McBride (11), Kaden Reed (5), Kallen Reed (22 months) and Walker Bray (21 months). Not enough words can express the love and joy this family unit brought him. Odis deeply loved his three brothers and one sister, Rick and Janie McClung of Belgium, Pat and Elaine McClung of Tatum, Billy and Denice McClung of Plano, and DeeAnna Beasley of Mount Pleasant; and two sisters in love, Jena and Roy Peck of Hallsville, and Julie and Joe Duhon of Bossier City, La. Included in his family were also a special father-in-law, Bobby Schattel of Gladewater; and a grandmother, Jessie Schattel of Hallsville. He left behind a goddaughter, Madison McClung; and many aunts, uncles and cousins, all of which he considered special--each and every one. His nieces and nephews all have individual and loving memories of him. It was always his desire to make every family get-together an occasion for making memories. Odis owned McClung Energy Services Inc. located in Longview. His desire for that company was to give his employees a good quality of life and produce a product that the natural gas industry could benefit from. He took personal pride and was passionate in everything he touched. Odis was respected by friends, family and business associates alike, always known as the one to turn to for good advice in any situation, whether it was family, personal or business. Odis was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Longview, and loved his Lord and Savior. His goal in life was to know his children, grandchildren and family members were saved and have the comfort of knowing that they would be with him in heaven someday. He was a very fortunate man to have lived as much life as he did to be so young at death. He loved to travel, ski, ride four-wheelers with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and hunt and fly with his son, Jerrod. He will be dearly missed. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006, at Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. John Wallingford officiating under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, where his beloved mother-in-law, Norma Avery, is resting until the rapture.
