McKnight, Allie M. 


Funeral services for Allie McKnight will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Kingdom 
Hall in Pine Tree. Burial will be in Grable Cemetery under the direction of Stanmore 
Funeral Home. A precious mother, grandmother and friend to everyone who knew her, Mrs. 
McKnight succumbed to her battle with cancer just as she lived, with dignity, strength 
and grace. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. McKnight was born January 25, 1926, in 
Magnolia, Ark., to Jonas and Lizzie Tims. She married J.W. McKnight on September 10, 
1944, and to this union six children were born. Mrs. McKnight was preceded in death by 
her husband, J.W. McKnight and two sons, Walter McKnight and Ellis McKnight. She is 
survived by four daughters, Geraldine Taylor of St. Louis, Mo., Elizabeth McCarty of 
Longview, Dora "Linda" Garrett of Longview, and Janice McKnight of Dallas; 14 
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will 
be 6-8 p.m. today, May 1, 2006, at Stanmore Funeral Home.
