McKnight, Bobbie Burns KILGORE -- Services for Bobbie McKnight, 79, of Kilgore, will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Robert Besser and the Reverend Ralph Rudy officiating. Burial will follow in the Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. McKnight died Thursday, April 13, 2006, in Kilgore. She was born May 4, 1926, in Olney, Texas, to R.G. and Louise Burns. Her family moved to Kilgore in the mid-1930's. Mrs. McKnight was a 1943 graduate of Kilgore High School. She went to Kilgore College and the University of Texas. Mrs. McKnight moved back to Kilgore in 1964, when she began her career as an assistant librarian for the Longview Public Library. She was a longtime member of the St. Luke's United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the United Methodist Women and the "Hilltoppers." Mrs. McKnight is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jack Evans of Kilgore; four grandchildren, Kellie and her husband, Joe Bailey, of Kilgore, Kevin Davidson of Kilgore, Jarrod and his wife, Tara Evans, of Wichita, Kansas, and Jaclyn Evans of Lubbock; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Chaney; and her parents, R.G. "Red" and Louise Burns. The family will receive friends 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday evening, April 16, 2006, at Rader Funeral Home.
