Monk, Beti KILGORE -- Services for Beti Monk, 72, of Kilgore, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne McKay officiating. Mrs. Monk went to be with her Lord Saturday, June 3, 2006, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 29, 1933, in Mount Vernon, Texas. Beti was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She was a homemaker and worked for Jack Anderson Co. for a while. Mrs. Monk was the receptionist for Citizens Bank of Kilgore for 27 years and was known as "The Voice of Citizens Bank." She was a member of First Christian Church in Kilgore. Beti lived an extraordinary life in an ordinary way. Mrs. Monk is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Paul Rominger of Farmersville, Texas, and Liz and Harry Metrik of Dallas; one son, Joe Monk of Tyler; a special friend, Atom Bergstrom of Kilgore; her mother, Rachel Carruth of Mount Vernon, Texas; a brother, Thomas Marion Carruth of Mount Vernon; a sister, Marilyn Smith of Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren, Summer and Rachel Rominger of Farmersville, and Lauren Metrik of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.
